Newsletter March 2010
During the course of the last twelve months, the Cornish Global Migration Programme has gone through a number of changes in an endeavour to improve the profile of this long running project. In the main this has now been achieved by:
- Changing the CGMP’s broadband account
- Having a specific CGMP web site at www.cornishmigration.org.uk
- Changing the email address to info@cornishmigration.co.uk
Currently it is considered that the aims of the project are somewhat limited and the Cornish Global Migration Programme would really appreciate your assistance in spreading the word further afield. This could be achieved by:
- Creating a link on your web site to the CGMP
- Inserting the CGMP’s new address in any newsletters and emails that are sent to your membership
In return the CGMP would be happy to add your web address on its Links page (coming soon!).
The Cornish Global Migration Programme is a unique project.
- It has recorded and continues to record all those who were Cornish born and moved to any corner of the world.
- The project is run by volunteers.
- There is a determination to maintain this very special piece of Cornish history.
- It is a record of past Cornishmen and -women around the world for future genealogists and historians.
Much has already been achieved but there is a huge amount still to be achieved to make the Cornish Global Migration Programme a truly outstanding project of records of the Cornish people outside of the boundary of Cornwall.
The Cornish Global Migration Programme is very grateful to its sponsors:
The Cornish American Heritage Society (sponsors the CGMP telephone account)
Bob & Tommi O’Hagan
Vancouver Cornish Society
Keweenaw Kernewek (The Cornish Connection of the Copper Country)
Cornish Computing (maintains the Cornish Global Migration Programme website)
In Pensioner J.C. Carbis
